My morning ritual is this. I feed the animals, make my coffee (instant — sorry, not a coffee person), then I sit down at my computer and check the local weather and local news from the ABC-affiliate website here in town.
Then, I begin the morning search for news items I feel worthy of a Dianny Rant. Maybe I’ll make a few ‘shop images. And, if I’m feeling particularly drowsy, I’ll make another cup of coffee (instant — because, really, why bother?).
Yesterday morning, after checking the weather, I clicked to see the local news stories and this headline actually made me laugh out loud:
A more accurate headline would have been: “Governor Cuomo Announces Plans to Fight Poverty He has Created.”
But let’s not pick nits.
To be fair, from the skimpy write-up, I was not able to definitively ascertain whether Governor Cuomo was planning to fight against poverty or if he was announcing he would fight on the side of poverty.
But a glance at the next headline down, gave me my answer:
So, for the record, Andrew Cuomo is coming down on the side of poverty.
Which we already knew given the fact that Andrew decided to ban fracking in the state based on bogus “scientific evidence” funded by anti-fracking groups.
You know, it takes a special kind of stupid to think that the increased poverty here in New York State will be defeated by mandating that employers pay people more.
I don’t know how many times we have to spell out facts to Liberals. It’s clearly as productive as attempting to reason with a two-year-old in the middle of a tantrum.
What Andrew Cuomo plans is a two-pronged attack to further advance poverty in New York State. First, increase taxes on the few remaining income-earners, then take that money and dump it into the voracious, never-sated maw of the Welfare State. Second, force the businesses who have yet to relocate to a more business-friendly state to pay their employees more money, thereby forcing businesses to cut back on the number of employed, and raise prices to accommodate this wage increase. Of course, some businesses will simply shutter their doors and say to hell with it, which will result in every one of their employees earning zero dollars per hour.
It takes a special kind of stupid to think that the best way to “fight poverty” is to create more of it.
It takes a special kind of stupid to continuously extort even more money from the people who are already bankrolling Medicaid, Food Stamps, Cash Assistance Programs, and Low-Income Housing and Home Energy Assistance Programs.
It takes a deeply ignorant, ideologically blinded imbecile to think that all this taxation and forced wage increases will “fight poverty.”
To me, this makes about as much sense as stopping a boat from sinking by punching a few more holes in the bottom.
But Cuomo isn’t alone.
He is simply implementing the same wealth redistribution policies that Barack Hussein Obama will once again demand during tonight’s State of the Poliburo Speech.
Cuomo and Obama, two very wealthy individuals, despise the wealth creators in America.
Neither of these guys has Clue One how wealth is created, how people are lifted out of poverty, how wages increase, and how an economy grows.
And they really don’t care.
Liberalism is the politics of envy.
To these two idiots, the very fact that there are people who make money sends them into fits of rage.
Because it isn’t fair.
What I find especially disturbing is that Jonathan Gruber was right.
These two morons depend on the stupidity of the American voter. And, sadly, there is plenty of stupidity out there.
In this morning’s news at the local ABC-affiliate, two local business owners were quoted regarding the minimum wage increase Cuomo seeks to implement.
I read this portion of the article and nearly spit out my instant coffee:
Bill Nester says he’s fortunate that he can pay employees more than minimum wage at Manny’s, the SU sportswear store he co-owns on Marshall Street.
He supports the idea of another wage hike, but says many small businesses would suffer.
“We like to see people make it in this world,” says Nester. “If it takes minimum wage going up, then it should happen.” [emphasis on blood-pressure-raising portion Dianny’s]
Run that by me one more time, you simpleton.
The minimum wage hike would result in many small businesses suffering, but because we want to see people make it in the world, we have to raise the minimum wage thereby ensuring that some small businesses don’t make it in the world?
Have I got that right?
Wow. Okay. It takes a special kind of stupid to think this makes sense.
Sweet merciful Zeus.
Honestly, I cannot think who is stupider: Obama and Cuomo, or feebleminded nitwits like this guy who, sadly, is not alone in his twisted, troll logic.
This is America in the Age of Obama: Home of the Stupid, and Land of the Takers.
Hard work is to be punished.
And the takers, who just keep taking and taking and taking, are rewarded with more and more and more of our hard-earned money until we have nothing left to fork over.
It takes a special kind of stupid to think that this will end well.
